POSITIVE ENERGY BALANCE
LIFE ZERO WASTE WATER has received funding from the European Unionâs LIFE programme under grant agreement LIFE19ENV/ES/000631.
Specific context
Technology
Technology
LIFE ZERO WASTE WATER (LZWW) is a demonstration project that will implement, test and evaluate the applicability of an innovative, cost-effective and positive energy balance WWTP solution for the integrated management of mixed waste streams in the specific context of small populations, based on the combination of technologies and methodologies validated independently at different scales, but never combined and applied in the specific context of the project.

Demo action
A demonstration action will be carried out in a real setting to validate the project approach and demonstrate whether the techniques and methods used work or not in the project context.
Location and extension
The demonstration plant is in the Valdebebas WWTP (Madrid) and it is estimated that it will have an area of ââabout 300 square meters.
Urban solid waste treatment
The Organic Fraction of Urban Solid Waste (OFMSW) will be collected, crushed and treated in the demonstration plant, which will treat up to 50 m3/d of mixed flow (WW + OFMSW).
